    The coffee plant is a tree that belongs to the gender Coffea. There are more than 60 different varieties of coffee, but for trade purposes the Coffea Arabica (Arabica) and Coffea Canephora (Robusta) are the most important.

    Approximately 4,000 beans are needed to produce one pound of roasted coffee.

    Black coffee (without sugar or milk)does not contain calories (less than 1 Kcal.)

    The coffee cherry looks like a cranberry and is protected by a skin called parchment. Coffee beans are actually the two flat-sided seeds inside the cherry.

    Coffee only grows in tropical and sub-tropical regions.
